Your first appointment with our neuro-ophthalmologist Atlanta may last up to 4 hours. Once your appointment is made a clinician assistant will be contacting you by phone to obtain a preliminary history. This information will help our doctors assess the urgency of your visit and determine a treatment protocol. To make your visit as smooth as possible, it is crucial to bring as much information about your previous medical work up as possible. This includes: prior exam notes, radiology studies (CT/MRI), pathology reports, and lab results. Ancillary testing is often very useful and can include visual field testing and sophisticated optic nerve imaging.

Often times, further work up may be required after an initial exam including CT scan, MRI, and or ultrasound studies. One of our secretaries will help arrange this. Additionally, many conditions will require the help of other physicians including: primary care physicians, neurologists, rheumatologist, endocrinologists, and neuro-surgeons.
